Chapter 7 : Railway Track Part 1

Recently, I've been to the railway track that lies along the Bukit Timah stretch, and I must say, if you're going there, do remember to get yourself prepared.

  • Wear Sport Shoes or Trekking Shoes
  • Bring a hankerchief/hand towel or plenty of tissue paper to wipe off your sweat
  • A huge bottle of water to quench your thirst that is lost from all that sweat
  • Insect Repellent (If you're the kiasu type that dislike mosquito bites/ant bites.)
  • Last but not least, a friend to help you take pictures or just accompany you to chat along the way.
Here are some pictures that I took recently of the traintracks and the surrounding! (Pictures not dispalyed in order/sequence)

Will upload Part 2 in the next chapter! Enjoy!

Chapter 6 : National Youth Business Challenge & Going Green

In support of going green and being environmental friendly, I will be typing this post entirely in GREEN!

So, most of you should know by now if you follow me on Twitter that I popped by the National Youth Business Challenge that was organised all the way at Compass Point in SengKang.

The embarrassing thing is, I thought it was Causeway Point, so I happily took the 187 Bus to Causeway Point Bus Interchange, then proudly stepped into Causeway Point thinking the event was in the foyer, when I walked into the foyer, the place was under renovation, so I was thinking where would they most likely hold the event since the foyer -which was the largest part of the shopping mall - was undergoing renovation, I literally went and searched throughout the whole of CWP looking for the event and even asked the Customer Service Counter, the lady was like "National Youth what?" By then I decided to call one of my friends till someone told me it was Compass Point, ended up taking a cab to Compass Point, haha, I feel like such an EPIC FAIL.

Didn't get to see the G.O.H though. Feels good to be one of the customers than being the participants, a change is good once in awhile.

West Spring's Booth! They're selling Badges if you didn't know.

Interesting right? You know what's even better? You can customize the badge yourself, you can put your name, draw things, put some random message about saving the earth!

By the time I arrived, they only left the big badges. Basically, there's three different sizes of badges, Small, Medium and Big.

Samples of the different badges they created, one of the popular design was "Angry Bird", I felt that they should have made Angry Bird Badges limited edition and for a higher price, it's not easy to draw them y'know!

One of the designs which I felt was very nice, Thomas and Friends!

So, more about the National Youth Business Challenge, it's a competition hosted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, School of Business and Accountancy, they invite secondary schools all over Singapore to attend their seminar/talk about going eco-friendly and coming up with their own eco-friendly product to sell. After the seminar/talk, the students from various secondary schools will have to come up with a proposal and send it to NAPSOBA (lazy to type the whole thing), they will determine if you make it to the Grand Finals, once you are selected to enter the Grand Finals, you will compete with several other secondary schools to win the Championship and hold the title of the Most Eco-Friendly and Innovative Overall Winner for NYBC 2011, (something like that, I can't really remember the title). Sounds fun right?

Find out more,

West Spring's iBadges Team !

Reached homed, activated my Facebook Account, uploaded the pictures taken for NYBC 2011 on Facebook.

After the award presentation, all the stalls were required to resume selling till 9pm unless they have sold everything. So I stood by the team, trying to get them to go around selling, making use of their time till some guy from another Secondary School came towards me and handed me.....

This newspaper bag, there's something inside it, care to guess?

The oreo wasn't inside, I just put it in.

There was also some string and red food colouring, basically, it's an experiment to test for Fog. Cool right?

Well, before I end this post, I want to share with you guys the new watch I bought! Haha, don't be jealous. BYE!

Chapter 4: First Week of Semester 3

Yes! Finally, the first week of semester three has officially ended. Even before the first day of the semester, I was looking through the timetable and looking at all the tedious subjects, I was actually kind of afraid I wouldn't be able to adapt to the new timetable but, it went pretty smoothly this week, and I'm proud that I haven't made a single complain about being tired so far!

So yeah, obviously this is going to be a pretty short post, most probably the future chapters, might be quite short as well, but rest assure, after the exams, I'll be back to do even longer chapters and more PICTURES!

Heres something different to end off my post today,

Good for you if you enjoy eating French Fries, STARE AT IT and imagine you're really eating it.

Chapter 3: Holidays & Blog Awards

(I LOOK WEIRD IN THIS PICTURE BUT I LIKE IT!)

As most of you Singaporean readers should know, the June Holidays are coming to an end and most of us are gonna go back to School and start a new semester.

I'm actually rather worried cause I wasn't really productive during the holidays. Remember the schedule I drew up for the June Holidays? There's like 11-10 more weeks to the Major Exam. Scary right? During my Holidays I only spent like 1 week doing homework and this entire week to revise and study but due to last minute meetings/projects and stuff like that, I missed out a lot on my schedule...

Once school re-opens, I'm gonna have to set a new schedule and a more productive one that will give me more time to study! Well, enough about school, it's getting me all anxious and moody already.

-

Recently I've been going around, reading blogs and stumbled upon TypicalBen's (aka Benjamin Toh), seems like he's a nominee of the Singapore Blog Awards for the Best Individual Blog Category, and, if you're free why not go and look at some of the other blogs at the Singapore Blog Awards and the different categories, all you have to do is create an account to vote, but your vote doesn't entirely say who wins, however, your vote holds 30% of the entire result. So if you want to be part of this year's Singapore Blog Awards as a voter, all you have to do is sign up, or if you have an account, even better for you!

Just simply log in, review all the bloggers and the different award categories, then choose one of the best out of each category, it's up to you, if you just want to vote for that one person under that one category, it's totally up to you, you don't have to review everyone's blog, even I don't do that...

Even Ris Low's blog is also nominated, the way she talks and the way she types are totally two different things!

If you're interested to vote, simply go to..........................

I would say, just pretend you're a judge, vote the person who you think deserves the prizes! Oh yes, did I mention that as voters, you can also stand a chance to win prizes as well just by voting? :P

Well, there's one more week for you to vote for the bloggers, closing date is on the 3rd July 2011 that falls on a SUNday, which is a weekend, which the next day is a Monday, which is a school day, which is far from Friday, but very near to Monday again! Random....

Chapter 2: Random Thoughts and Short Stories

Some of you might be wondering why I hadn't had any post since the first chapter, and you also might be wondering why there is a picture of cough syrup above. Well, the reason is this, unfortunately for me, after I was done with Chapter 1, I fell terribly ill and had cough, flu, and even high fever, poor me. So yeah, I was so sick that I didn't even have the energy to type Chapter 2.

Then again, you might be wondering how long I was sick. It lasted for 2 weeks, after that it was the beginning of the June Holidays and I had school to attend during the first and second week and by the third week I had to go for the AlphaKidz Community Involvement Programme, so yeah, finally I get to add on a chapter! I would love to split this entire post into even more chapters but I think it'd be best if I just put everything that happened in this chapter so that Chapter 3 would be something different!

You might be wondering what's this table all about, this is my schedule for the entire month of June and what I plan to do everyday, except for weekends. The first and second week is kind of like my study week. If you look closely, (actually you don't have to look closely, it's kind of obvious), there's this week (week 12), the entire week is highlighted in RED. Just to let you know, it's the week that I spent in AlphaKidz, such a memorable week. With effect from tomorrow it'll be officially the last week of the June Holidays for students who go to public school in Singapore :( I find that even if there's a 1 month holiday it's never enough... Oh well, life still goes on.

First 2 weeks of June Holidays didn't felt like holidays at all, I spent the 2 weeks studying (YES, I REALLY DID STUDY IF YOU THINK I'M FAKING IT). *Pats myself on the back*

I still remember I took this picture when Dominic came back from Hong Kong with his gifts that he bought us during his stay at Hong Kong Disneyland, will upload the pictures of the gifts he brought back and told me and a few other friends to meet up at Starbucks to collect it! There's even an Electric Angry Bird Fan! Cool right.
Guess where this picture was taken at, just a random guess would do. (CLUE: It's a huge place where people like to hold mega events)

Another clue: It's rather near to the Singapore Flyer, have you guessed it yet?

If you guessed Suntec City, you're absolutely correct! Went there for the IT Fair Show on Saturday to get my Grandfather the latest Motorola ATRIX Phone! You might be thinking why he needs such a good phone, but the truth is, I myself have no idea. HAHA.
Took the bus back home after the show because Mummy was scared of the heavy traffic and decided not to drive but from the looks of it, the road wasn't really that packed until later in the afternoon like 3pm-4pm and we went like really early and left at about 1pm.

This was one of the free gifts they gave when you were the the first few who bought something there, they also gave an angry bird plush toy! I'll also upload it some other time :D It's like so freaking cute!

Went out on one fine Sunday where I had to teach the others about their F&N coursework, caught X-Men: First Class after that, I was kind of unwilling at first cause I don't really like these kind of action pack movies but I gave it a try and realized it was okay but the ending totally hinted everyone that there might be a sequel, which I'm not looking forward to, I won't want to see X-Men: Second Class.

My Name Tag! I miss it so much, it represents me during the whole AlphaKidz Programme. If you're wondering who's the girl in orange, her name is Ivy. To sum it all up, although it was a 8am-6pm for 5 days which is almost equivalent to 50 hours and above including of all the energy and vocal energy that was used up to talk, manage and handle all the different situations you get with children from the age of 7-9 years old, it seemed quite challenging but I managed to overcome it and I definitely feel proud of myself for being able to handle children, before the programme I thought I was going to fail as a leader but it really helped me in communicating with children and the ways to handle different situations, I really learnt a lot and benefitted a lot from the whole programme as well. I'm not sure if I might go next year but if my schedule allows it, I wouldn't mind going for a second time!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, at the end of the whole programme they also gave away this cute and nicely designed goodie bag! Almost all the other volunteers felt the bag was nice, even I felt it was nice!

Just some random picture at the Rail Mall, haha, get it, Random Thoughts, so Random Picture! Hey, I just thought of an idea!

Finally to end off this chapter with a picture of me SMILING to my Panasonic Lumix LX-5 Camera! :D
