Chapter 50 : Rejection

Everyone faces rejection at one point or another. I just had to deal with mine last Friday. If you've been following me on Twitter, you would know that I applied for the Direct Poly Admission (DPA), you can go read about it if you're unaware what it is all about. Just to sum it up for you, it's something like an early admissions to polytechnic, with a few benefits but you have to go through an interview and they'll select you based on your write-up and interview. (They choose to give you an interview based on your write-up.)

And for those of you who have read one of my previous chapter, Chapter 35 : My Future , you would have known that I wanted to be an Accountant and as predicted, I applied for Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Accountancy course. In preparation for this entire DPA process, I started preparing months before the start of DPA, I counted down each day, practiced tough interview questions, did every necessary preparation in hope that I'll get an interview. However,

as you know, things didn't turn out as well, that's why the title of this chapter is called "Rejection".
It wasn't easy for me to get over it but I was prepared, even before DPA started I was already wondering and worrying whether or not I'll be good enough for them but with all the support and encouragement from my Family and Friends, I got back on my two feet and continued my journey to the O levels instead.

As my counsellor said, there's always a reason for things to happen. Maybe DPA wasn't meant for me, maybe if I went for DPA I would have missed out something greater that might be happening in future. Life's an unpredictable journey. The lesson I learnt is most probably determination and that I shouldn't keep my hopes up.

Till the next chapter!
